Going back lo…

10 05 2010

Haha finally going back soon…..
Will miss the lifestyle here a lot…shopping, sightseeing, gathering, safe and secured, 4 seasons…

Oh, will be going back to the hot and humid country…
sure I’ll be bathing a lot there before I can get used to the weather… sweaty and hot :(
No more shopping, will just do window shopping…

……………….

Rock Bottom again

10 05 2010

Visited Rock Bottom again…
Too bad, the fireman beer is no longer available!

This time I tried the Overnight braised short rib for $13.95. It’s pretty nice!
I bought the Lager beer (first one on the samplers list)…haha, I totally forget how’s the taste, actaully it’s a bit plain, should go for #3 or #4 on the list….

5 05 2010

Packing and still packing for my return…quite a lot to pack as we both stayed here for 1 year.
Been doing the insurance and calculating the items :|
Haha…I guess you won’t believe it…

T-shirts and jeans alone already ~250 pieces.
Winter jackets or normal jackets ~15 pieces.
Shoes ~21 pairs
Bags (handbag/laptop bag/luggage bags) ~18 of them

Also haven’t included those beloved shoes that we wear/hand carry back…
This haven’t account those clothes that we check-in the flight and bring back ourselves :|

Haha! Really did a lot shopping here :>
Can last for 2-3 years already if I didn’t grow fatter… haha!

Wong King Beaverton

5 05 2010

hmm…we were there for DimSum few weeks ago.
This new Wong King at Beaverton is at the old china moon restaurant, which is just next to the Target.

Might be still just new opening…
The waiter/waitress is not as up to expectation and the system is a bit confusing sometimes.

As I read from others forum before I went, I knew that we’ll be ordering from menu instead of trolley pushing around (promoting freshness). I’m totally fine with that. But when I were there, looks like it’s a mixture. I ordered from the menu/paper, then after few minutes, there’s waiter walking around from table to table asking whether we’re interested in what he’s bringing now,…So, it so happened that it’s on our ordered items, so we took it, then few minutes later, they started to come out with what we ordered and looks like there’s duplicate now as they didn’t sync between the one asking from table to table with what we ordered….So, a bit confusing :| which I’m not impress. Either do the ordering only or do the trolley/table to table only. Else we’ll be ended up with multiple order and hard to track what’s going on.
And the waiter travel from table to table, let’s say taking the 1 type of dumpling 3-4 plates on his hand, it’s not hard to memorize what’s the price/item that is. When we say ok we’ll take it, he still needs to go back and asked around which price he should tick at our bill :| new I guess….
Food is still ok, but overall actaully I still prefer the Ocean City at 82nd Avenue compared to this Wong King.
When we first set foot in this new restaurant, not many people is there, no queue at all, but the waitress give us a number instead and asked us to wait :| coz they needed to setup the table (when we have 4 person only and plenty of tables already setup…)?!…About 2min then she take back the number from us and showed us to our table. Another waiter came and pour us water, but he poured one glass, then walked away (where his jug of water is still full) :| … haha, don’t quite get it…after few minutes only come back and poured the other 3 glasses….

Haha…funny experience, maybe it’s really still new….

Pheasant Valley Winery

3 05 2010

We were there last weekend and it’s really a nice place to drop by.

There’s 2 wine tasting, $5 for 6 tasting or $10 for 15 tasting and souvenir glass.
So we took the $10 for 15 tasting + glass. Started my wine/beer glass collections :)

We tried all the 15 whites and reds. Overall, very nice!
Especially love the 2nd on the list, “2006 Columbia Gorge CHARDONNAY”.
Anyway I bought 2007 Vintage Select Gewurztraminer for $10 (375mL).
This is nice too!

Worth dropping by here and check it out.

Silk at Pearl District

2 05 2010

Silk Vietnemese restaurant at Pearl District.
I must say this is a great restaurant. The food is really great and price is reasonable!
We were there for dinner and we ended up 4 people ordering 5 dishes, really unresistable.

We had ginger chicken $14, pork in clay pot $15, Vietnemese curry chicken $14, five spice duck $22 and Kaffir Lime chicken $16.
I had Vietnemese coffee $3.5 and it’s nice too!

Worth a try.
